Professionally I find comfort in the fact that everything balances out eventually. Personally I'm still working on applying that philosophy to my own life with mixed results. I once read that the average person spends six months of their life waiting in lines. I spent that time building spreadsheets nobody asked for and I regret nothing. I'm detail-oriented in the best and occasionally exhausting way, warm with the people I actually let in, and genuinely funny once you get past the first impression which I'll admit is usually "she seems very organized." Benjamin Franklin said that in this world nothing is certain except death and taxes. I handle one of those professionally and would love to spend the other certainty with someone worth it. Looking for something real. Preferably with someone whose finances are at least directionally under control.

Not perfectly, not impressively on paper, just actually in order. Who makes decisions without outsourcing them, handles his responsibilities without drama, and understands that reliability is genuinely one of the most attractive qualities a person can have. I did not arrive at this conclusion randomly. Has a sense of humor about himself. The best men I've ever met could laugh at their own nonsense without being prompted. That quality correlates with pretty much everything else I care about. Ready to actually meet someone. No endless texting, no vague intentions, no "let's see where this goes" as a permanent state of being. We're adults with calendars. This is solvable. Warm, present, and capable of a real conversation that goes somewhere on its own. Everything else we can figure out over dinner which, for the record, I ! will absolutely split if you insist, but I won't insist.
